This Privacy Policy explains, in simple terms, how we handle data when you use the HBAR HODL Ducks governance website (the “Site”). We never request or store your seed phrase or private keys.
1) Who we are
HBAR HODL Ducks is a community project (not a company).
Controller: the HBAR HODL Ducks project lead.
Privacy contact (regularly monitored): quack@hbarhodlducks.com
On request, we will provide any identifying details needed to exercise your rights.
2) What we collect
- Wallet verification data: wallet address, verification/signature events, connected wallet type.
- NFT eligibility: checks of token ownership (e.g., Duck Token ID 0.0.9549703) to verify voting rights.
- Voting data: proposal ID, your selected option(s), timestamps, vote status. Results are published in aggregate; we minimize exposure of full wallet addresses where feasible.
- Site diagnostics (minimal): IP address, device/browser info, pages viewed, solely for security and performance.
We do not collect: seed phrases, private keys, or full payment card data.
3) Why we use your data (lawful bases)
- Provide governance features (verify eligibility, accept votes, display results) – contract/legitimate interests.
- Security & abuse prevention (fraud checks, spam limits) – legitimate interests.
- Analytics & performance (minimal, non-invasive) – legitimate interests or consent where required.
- Legal compliance – respond to lawful requests.
4) Cookies & analytics
We use only what is technically necessary to operate wallet verification and voting. If we add optional analytics or tracking later, we will request consent via a banner and let you manage preferences.
5) How we share information
- Service providers: hosting, security, and other essential tools to run the Site.
- Community transparency: vote results are published; we minimize exposure of full wallet addresses where feasible.
- Legal: where required by law or to protect rights and security.
We do not sell your personal data.
6) International transfers
Your data may be processed outside your country. Where required, we use safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent measures.
7) Retention
- Governance records: proposal metadata and vote tallies may be kept as part of the public governance record.
- Logs/diagnostics: retained for a limited time for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or anonymized.
8) Your rights
Depending on your location (e.g., EEA/UK), you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, data portability, object to processing, and withdraw consent where used. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9) Children
The Site is not intended for individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10) Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method is 100% secure.
